Who owns them?
The first film was put out by Mainstreaming releasing... but Artisan is listed on BM2 dvd artwork..... and I think hey were bought by Lionsgate right after BM2's release. Do Lionsgate now own the rights?
BM1 sold 600,000 copies in its first year, hence the sequel.... but NBM2 sold over a million... and no sequel, so it seems to me as if Lionsgate bought Artisan (and the BM franchise) but doesn't know what it has.
I ask as a friend works for a little British production company and they are looking to buy existing horror franchises that are under-known.... and I think BLOODY MURDER could still have a 3rd installment and bring back the old fans.
I'm asking you guys as I don't think my friend would like the films himself (he's a bit of a snob sometimes) but I think his boss would, so I want to bypass his nay-saying and go straight to the head of the studio.
Thanks.

Lightning Entertainment owns the rights to the BM films. When The Graveyard was in production, it was BM3 all the way up to filming. It was a very last-minute decision to make it a different movie. We consider it a spin-off because it takes place at CPP and Placid Pines Cemetery, but the props with those names were already made and production decided to keeps the location names.
